I have really enjoying having to do the PRABE every week. It has made me read more and be more interested in reading. Before I never made time for reading because I was to busy with school work. But I have learned that having a break from school books and reading a book of your choice is a great thing to do. I have had this same assignment of writing entries in a previous class I took with you and I loved it as well. I will keep reading without the PRABE anymore. I believe it has made me a better reader. I don't just read I remember what I am reading to be able to put in the entries. It has made me think better, and be a better writer. I believe this PRABE has made a stronger reader. Reading as an assignment isnt really an assignment to me. It is more like pleasure reading that is fun so I don't consider it an assignment. I have become a better reader because of this assignment.
I have continued reading "An Angel for Emily" and it is great. They are starting to fall and love and Emily is finding out that her fiance Donald really isnt a nice guy. He was just using her for her to write his stories and he could report it on the news. He never loved her.

Content Area Literacy- PRABE #9
I started reading An Angel for Emily by Jude Deveraux. This is a really great book so. Emily Todd is a librarian and travels around the country to gives book to less fortunate people. Her fiance Donald isn't that great of a guy. When she is driving after a party she runs over a man. His name is Michael and he claims to be an angel. He isn't even scratched from being hit. He stays with her for a few days. And he acts really strange and she keeps telling him to leave but he doesn't. And she doesn't really mind that he stays because she enjoys his company. She finds out that he is wanted for a crime. But he doesn't seem dangerous. He is really nice. he appears with a bullet in his head. And gun shot in his chest. He asks her to pull the bullet out of his head and she does. When she wakes up he is fine. That is when she starts to realize that there is something different about him. I would recommend anyone to read this book. It is really good so far.

I couldn't finish reading Two Kisses for Maddy. It was just to sad. I read the Vow by Kricket and Kim Carpendar. I was actually able to read the whole book. This book is nothing like the Vow movie with Channing Tatum and Rachael McAdams. The story starts out about talking about how they met. Kim, the guy. And Kricket the girl. I thought Kim was the girl it is odd to hear that a guy's name is Kim. The don't live in the same state, and Kricket is a jacket saleswomen and Kim calls often to order jackets for his baseball team. He is the head coach. He is always excited when Kricket answers. Then they start giving their home phones, then they start talking on the phone for hours with eachother. And they also email, and write letters to each other. I believe this was in the 70s. They then go and meet eachother in person. Then they fall in love, and get married. They are only married for a few months when they drive to her parents for Thanksgiving. They have a bad car accident. Kim is hurt but not as bad as Kricket is. She is in the hospital for a long time but doesn't remember who Kim is. She remembers her family. But she doesn't remember that she feel in love with him, or getting married to him. At the end they fell in love again and got married. This was a awesome book!

Content Area Literacy- PRABE #7
I have finally finished reading The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks. This book was certainly a tear jerker. At the end of the book she found out that she loved Dawson and was going back to him. And decided to get a divorce with her husband. But then she gets a call from her son and he has been in an accicent. Her husband was drunk once again and her son went to pick him up. While picking him up they got into an accident. Her son was fine after the accident and once they get to the hospital her son gets sick and needs a new heart. She arrives and he has a heart attack. Then Dawson is driving and sees the man he always see's he thinks he is crazy because he thinks he is seeing things. But he is actually seeing the man that he killed in a car crash a long time ago. This figure leads him to a bar where his son is at. Dawson's cousins girlfriend works there and his girlfriend is planning on running away and he finds out. He believes that the man Dawson killed, his son is his girl's boyfriend. So he goes after him. Dawson gets in the way. Dawson walks his son outside and he aims the gun towards his head. He is braindead on the spot and dies. Later they learn that her son has Dawson's heart. For the heart transplant. It was so sad, but very good.
I then started on a new book. "Two Kisses for Maddy" by Matthew Logelin. This is also the author or Marley & Me. This book is a memoir. This book is about two high schcool sweethearts, Matt and Liz. They fell in love, went to college, and spent much of their relationship long distance. And that worked for them. They then got engaged, got married, got a new home. And started trying to have a baby. Liz got pregnant. During her pregnancy she had a rough time. Her last 3 weeks she had to stay in the hospital. She learned that she was low on amniotic fluid, the baby is underweight and the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. Madeline the baby was born 7 weeks early. They were able to hold the baby until 24 hours later. While Liz was walking to her baby she feel to the ground. She had a pulmonary embolism and died. She was never able to hold her baby. Thats where I stopped. It seems so sad. I want to stop reading it because it is just so sad, but I want to know what happens.

Content Area Literacy- PRABE #4
This weekend I started back on my book the Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks. I am really enjoying this book. This book is about two high school students Amanda and Dawson who went to school together in the spring of 1984. They live in the small town of Oriental, North Carolina. Dawson is a loner and comes from a very violent family. And Amanda is a golden girl who comes from a very rich family. She plans to attend Duke University. As seniors they were drawn in different directions. And 25 years pass and they unite again because one of their dear friends passed away. Tuck Hjostetler, he was a friend of Dawson where he stayed at when his house was to violet to be at. Tuck wants Amanda and Dawson come back for his funeral and it it there at his house that they meet 25 years later. When Dawson is back in his small town he runs into his brothers and family and they try to get in a fight with him so Dawson tries his best to keep his distance from them. Dawson now works in a small town at a oil rig. This book is really great so far and I can't wait to finish it.
